Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week.  I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

In these crazy times, this interabled couple is sharing their adventures in Nova Scotia

I have been following Kev and Dee on their Accessible Adventures Instagram account for a while now and have really enjoyed watching them detail parts of their life and showcasing accessible destinations.

This is a video as opposed to a written story, but I would strongly encourage you to watch it, which includes a trip they made to Rissers Beach.

Pinehurst resident remembered for advocacy, social justice efforts

A champion for human rights and an environmentalist, Bob Mertens lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for the love of his family, community and doing what he could to make the world a better place.

A long-time volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, Mertens championed bike rides for the emergency social services charity to raise funds for programs.

“This wasn’t volunteer service for Bob. It was simply a way of life, and the compass that directed him to many organizations,” Tracey Clements, a coordinator of the Red Cross service centre in Bridgewater, explained to LighthouseNOW.
