The South Shore is hopping with all kinds of events this weekend. Visit one of the many holiday markets that are happening, take in a hockey game, challenge your bubble to some trivia, visit a museum or enjoy some live music. Let’s have a look at what’s happening on the South Shore this weekend!

What’s happening on Friday November 20th, 2020

Nov 20 – Clickity Clack Knitting Group (Bridgewater)

Calling all knitters and crocheters, experienced or learning. You are invited to Clickty-Clack Knitting Group this Friday from 10am-12pm at the DesBrisay Museum. Instruction for beginners and socialization for the more experienced knitters. Some supplies are available and lots of patterns for beginners. Join them for a relaxing morning of knitting/crocheting and chatting.

Nov 20 – Jackbox Games Trivia at Mulligan’s Sports Bar (Bridgewater)

Mulligan’s Sports Bar welcomes you to take part in Jackbox Games Trivia this Friday at 8pm. Jackbox games is a fun interactive trivia style game played from your table using your smart phone. Grab your bubble people, grab some snacks and test your knowledge!

Nov 20 – Andre Pettipas and The Giants acoustic show at the FirkenStein (Bridgewater)

As part of their “Sympathy Card” release tour, Andre Pettipas and The Giants will be making a stop in Bridgewater at Firkinstein Brewing. This will be a full band, stripped-down performance. Advanced tickets are available at the Firk for pickup – Cash Only

Nov 20 – George Street live at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)

King Street Beer Co. welcomes George Street this Friday from 8-10pm. Grab a beer and your bubble and start the weekend off right. Must be 19+ to attend. Tickets are $10 and available online . It’s gonna be a time, don’t miss out!!

Nov 20 – Wonders…..Art Inspired by Nature Exhibit (Bridgewater)

The DesBrisay Museum presents Wonders…Art Inspired by Nature. The exhibit features the fibre sculptures, and watercolour & acrylic paintings of artists Astrid Pickens & Gary D. Selig. The show will be open until Friday December 20. The Museum is open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm. Please visit the museum website for COVID protocols.

Nov 20 – Irish Sessions at Lane’s Privateer Inn (Liverpool)

Nov 21 & 22 – Christmas in Petite 2020 (Petite Riviere)

Christmas In Petite is back this year, with a few changes for COVID. Shop your way around Petite Riviere on November 21-22nd. Visit eight locations in the village will feature local vendors and artisans offering a wide range of unique gift options. In addition, there will be two locations for a delicious lunch: Osprey’s Nest Pub and Beachside Pizza.The market locations for this year are: Petite Riviere Winery, Painted Saltbox Gallery, River House Studio, Petite Pet Hospital, Petite Riviere Firehall, Petite General Store, Garage Studio and Mariner Craft.

Nov 21 – Bridgewater United UCW Mini-Bazaar (Bridgewater)

The Bridgewater United Church UCW is holding a Mini-Bazaar this Saturday from 10am-1pm. The Christmas Bazaar is always the big UCW event of the year but we are looking at a much smaller version to be held at the back of the Church Sanctuary. There will be three tables featuring Christmas baking; Crafts and knitting: and jams, jellies and pickles. Admission to the Bazaar on Saturday, November 21st will be through the Church Narthex entrance. All must wear a mask and COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

Nov 21 – First Annual Christmas in the Shed! (Northfield)

Nasturtium Designs is hosting their first Christmas in the Shed this Saturday from 10am-4pm. Come sip hot cider, nibble some freshly baked cookies and enjoy the amazingly good sales being offered in the shed! Browse the fabulous vendors which so far include “Open Nest Collective”, “Pats and Kats Mittins” , “It’s a Shore Thing” and “Jossie’s Herbal Healing” which will also excitingly be offering on site tarot readings by the fire! Masks will be required while in the shed and only 2 people max at a time. Please respect social distancing and please don’t come if you’re showing any symptoms!

Nov 21 – Introduction to Longsword Workshop (LaHave)

Medieval Swordplay Canada is also hosting a Introduction to Italian Medieval Longsword Training workshop this weekend, 7-8:30pm. This class is open to beginners, must be 18+Registration in advance holds your spot and is nonrefundable. Spaces limited. Training Swords provided. Nov 21 – Free Movie Night at HB Studios Sports Centre (Bridgewater)

HB Studios Sports Centre has partnered with the Town of Bridgewater and Fresh Air Films to bring you a Free Movie Night this Saturday. The fun starts with “The Lion King” at 3:00pm followed by “The Karate Kid” at 6:00pm. Pre-registration is required, please call 902-543-5348 or email. Nov 21 – Trivia at the Taproom Boxing Rock (Shelburne)

Nov 21 – Liverpool Privateers vs. East Hants Penguins (Liverpool)

Nov 21 – Saturday Night Classics at Mulligans Sports Bar (Bridgewater)

Nov 21 – The Waterfront Gang live at The FirkenStein (Bridgewater)

The Waterfront Gang brings a night of music to Firkinstein. The gang consists of Robert Clark on Bass, Gary Sallans on the Guitar, Mike Watson on Tenor Sax and Jordi Comstock on the Drums. Alex Whitty will be joining the gang to provide a fabulous vocal component. While we may hear some blues, the odd bit of rock, it is the American Songbook that provides most of the tunes we will be performing. Come join us for a very fine evening of very fine music! $5 cover.

Nov 22 – Bridgewater Holiday Markets (Bridgewater)

Join Bridgewater Farmers’ Market on the five Sundays before Christmas for their modified Holiday Markets. 25+ vendors (some of your regular farmers’ market vendors and other local makers) will be set up inside and outside the Bridgewater Arena to bring you more local choices for your holiday shopping and entertaining

Nov 22 – “Bend & Brews” and “Brunch in the Taproom” at Boxing Rock (Shelburne)

 Boxing Rock Brewing Company and earthMonkey Yoga have teamed up for Bend & Brews, this Sunday. Do a little yoga with Tamara, suitable for all levels, and exercise your way into Brunch. Yoga starts at 10am. Brunch consisting of a breakfast strata, fresh muffins, fruit, tea or coffee and yep, beer begins at 11am. $25 for both, or $15 for just Brunch. please call 902-875-2822 for more details or to book your space!

Nov 22 – Beethoven & Beyond at the LAMP (Lunenburg)

The Ludwig at LAMP series continues into November! Join them this Sunday with: Soprano Rhian Merritt, pianist Ian Tomaz and instrumentalist Ross Macintosh on euphonium share music from the British Isles. These concerts are just one hour in length with socially-distanced seating and a maximum of 50 people. Admission is by donation. Nov 22 – Aligning Brain and Heart—A Healing Path (Martins River)

River Ridge Lodge is delighted to collaborate with Debbie Gaudet (Prana Brain Wellness) and Katharina Reed (Unsticking from Story) to create an awareness of how aligning your brain and heart support your health and well-being. The afternoon will begin with presentations by Debbie and Katharina, followed by complementary Neurofeedback and “Unsticking from Story” sessions, giving you the opportunity to experience this process. You’ll be treated to coffee, tea and gluten-free snacks, or feel free to bring your own. Registration is only $20.00 + HST.
