Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday mornings I usually take time to catch up on stories I may not have time to read through the week. I thought I would share some that caught my eye this week, and thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee too!

Let Go of These 10 Items to Jumpstart Decluttering

Every spring I get a strong decluttering urge. My daughter has moved back home from living in the city for the past school year, and all her boxes and bags are still sitting in my entry as I’m hoping she and I will have time to clean out her room before we start piling stuff back in. (and I want to paint it…but that’s another story) Anyway, every year decluttering and getting rid of “stuff” is on my to-do list. I can just imagine the calm I would feel if every room in the house was dealt with and just waiting for us to enjoy and relax. So you’re just going to have to put up with me sharing these type posts until I get there. 😉

Decluttering is usually the first step people take to simplify their lives. It is often the easiest and most effective place to begin. Removing the excess from our homes naturally encourages us to look at the more challenging, often hidden things that also complicate our lives: debt, busyness, mental clutter, just to name a few. But it often starts with physical possessions.

Do you know I love podcasts? Have I ever mentioned that? I spend a lot of time when I am home alone or working in the kitchen listening to podcasts so I was really excited when I read that Lighthouse Now is producing a podcast based on local stories. I just finished listening to it and I thought it was really well done and a pretty fascinating story I had never heard of. Even better, they had a listening party and the brother of the subject of their story…Barrel Man…showed up! How great was that?

On Saturday, as I was grabbing a glass of red wine at our podcast listening party in Lunenburg, a man with an impressive white beard walked in. You Could Live Here! 1020 Conquerall Mills Road, Conquerall Mills Nova Scotia

Six minutes to town, a walk to the Fancy Lake Public Swimming Beach, and probably around 15 minutes or less to beautiful Risser’s Beach, is just the start of the appeal of this beautiful property. A three bedroom, 2- bath home that has been redesigned and renovated with the popular kitchen, living room open concept. Did I mention the 2 heat pumps AND an efficient wood stove in the family room. Air conditioning in the summer and cozy in the fall and winter! You can see in the video how open and bright the rooms are….including the family room…which I love! What a great way to start the summer with the kids….walking to the lake for a swim in the evening, then hanging out in the spacious backyard playing catch or blowing bubbles.

Thanks for the Sunday morning read Jennifer 🙂 Love the decluttering article, when the snow is gone and the weather gets warmer that’s when I get my urge to purge the house/office/mind of all the clutter!! I’ll pop back later and listen to the podcast.
