Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week.  I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

High note hit at Lunenburg Queens Business Excellence Awards

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners at this years Lunenburg Queens Business Excellence Awards. It’s intriguing to see new and traditional industries compete.

Myrna Gillis, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Aqualitas, gave the keynote.

Based in the former Bowater Mersey premises outside of Liverpool, Aqualitas is the largest licensed producer of cannabis in Nova Scotia and becoming a recognized leader in cannabis research, product development and international import and export.

She notes there are five cannabis producers in Nova Scotia, with nine more “in the queue,” and all but one are in rural communities.

“This is a really tremendous opportunity that we’ve never seen before where we can have such broad opportunity in rural communities in this particular industry.”

Definitely going to be interesting…and exciting… to watch Aqualitas grow and the impact that will have on the South Shore.

Growing Up Low-Income In Rural N.B. Left Me Richer In Every Way

I enjoyed this and much of it felt sort of familiar. It was interesting how she took the lessons she learned growing up in rural NB and was able to use those as she transitioned to living in a big city.

You Could Live Here!

116 Dixie Road, Bridgewater, NS

Some of you may remember this house? We featured it here on Sunday Morning Coffee last month. It’s on the same lake as ours and friends of ours are selling it. They just listed it with PropertyGuys.Com,  who advertise your property on Canada’s largest private sale network, social media, and on Realtor.ca simultaneously for ultimate exposure.

A home close to town, but private, quiet, and away from it all? Early morning coffee on the dock, fishing in the spring, swimming on hot summer days, an evening canoe in the fall or a skating party in the winter….lake living offers year round enjoyment, like none other.

Just imagine the memories your family could make here. Located in Hebbs Cross, only 8 minutes from the town of Bridgewater, this private residence is your cottage and dream home in one!
