Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week.  I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

He can hug it’: Boy gives teddy bear to sick boy, 4, who lost his

Pretty much everything during the holiday season, makes me emotional. This story is touching and a good reminder to keep everyone going through tough times, and health situations,  even more in our thoughts. I’m sure this bear will bring some comfort to the little boy heading into surgery this week.

A new East Coast tradition: Towering Christmas trees made of lobster traps

I love these lobster trees that are becoming a part of many coastal communities traditions,  this time of year. Bittersweet as many of the buoys bear the names of those fishermen lost at sea  while lobster fishing.

The lobster fishery is such a part of our history and livelihood for many here on the South Shore. Suzi Atwood, tourism development officer for Barrington, said it best…

“It speaks to the importance [of lobster fishing] to our economy … It’s the backbone of our community.”
