Located off Highway #3, Miller Point Peace Park is easy to find with blue signage at the roadside. The first parking lot which is located immediately upon entering gets plowed in the winter and therefore is accessible to all vehicles. Once parked, a sheltered sign with information about the park will greet you.

The trail system begins just behind the gate which is located at the edge of the parking lot. A trail map can be found beside the gate. It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the map as there are multiple trails within this park.

Going counter clockwise, the trail weaves in and out along the LaHave river through a stunning mature pine stand. Once you reach the inner parking lot, you will find a sheltered picnic area as well as waste disposal. Heading onward, the trail leads to a bridge that crosses a salt marsh. This is a great place to stop and look for birds.

Continuing on towards Horseshoe Cove, there are a multitude of beautiful benches where you can stop to rest and take in the view. Once at Horseshoe Cove, you can continue on the woods trail or take the walking trail which winds towards a hemlock stand. If conditions allow, this is a fantastic trail system to snowshoe.

Have you discovered Miller Point Peace Park in the Winter? True to it’s name, Miller Point Peace Park makes for a peaceful day out by yourself or with your family.
