What’s Happening on the South Shore this Weekend (March 5-7, 2021)

It’s looking to be a chilly, but sunny weekend, perfect for the first weekend of March. The South Shore is ready to keep you busy and active with all kinds of activities both indoors and out. Everything from knitting to art shows, flea markets to campfire cookouts and even popcorn, yes popcorn! Have a look and let’s see what is happening on the South Shore this weekend.

What’s Happening on Friday March 5th, 2021

Mar 5 – Public Skating at the LCLC (Bridgewater)

Skate your way into the weekend at the LCLC in Bridgewater. Public Skates happen throughout the weekend, $4 for Adults, $3 Youth, Family ($ people) $10. Check the schedule above, grab your bubble people, skates and head to the rink!

Mar 5 – Clickity Clack Knitting Group (Bridgewater)

Grab your skeins, needles and patterns and join the Clickity-Clack Knitting group this Friday from 10am-12pm at DesBrisay Museum. Instruction for beginners and socialization for the more experienced knitters. Some supplies are available and lots of patterns for beginners. Join us for a relaxing morning of knitting/crocheting and chatting, $10 for the season.

Mar 5 – Popcorn Fridays at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)

Join King Street Beer Co. for Popcorn Fridays! This March we are celebrating Woman’s Day, Spring Forward, St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Equinox, that’s a busy month. Be sure to buy some popcorn in support of Harbour House, Families Supporting Families campaign.

Mar 5 – Aaron Warren live at Bayport Pub (Riverport)

Bayport Pub welcomes back Aaron Warren this Friday, 7-9pm. Aaron is back for a night of pub style covers and requests. The food is awesome and beverages available too. Call to reserve (902) 764 – 2404

Mar 5 – Phil Ramey live at FirkenStein Brewing (Bridgewater)

FirkenStein Brewing is pleased to welcome back Phil Ramey to the stage. Bring your bubble mates for some good local beer, and good local music. Phil takes the stage at 7pm!

What’s Happening on Saturday March 6th, 2021

Mar 6 – Take the Roof Off Winter at the MARC (Dayspring)

This Saturday is the last of the District of Lunenburg RecreationsTake the Roof off Winter Day“! We are excited to see you for lots of outdoor fun! You can borrow skis/snowshoes for FREE to use at the MARC during the day, sled down our 2 big hills, or skate on the pond (weather permitting) before warming up around the fire! Please Note: We are monitoring the weather to ensure your safety. Please watch our page for cancellations.

Mar 6 – South Shore Flea Market (Lunenburg)

Rotary Club of Lunenburg is hosting their South Shore Flea Market this Saturday from 9am-12pm. Not only will you find small treasures, your $1 admission fee is supporting many of the great Rotary initiatives in the community. COVID-19 protocols, masks & social distancing, are in place to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Mar 6 – Diane Rosati’s Art Sale at Boxing Rock Taproom (Shelburne)

Boxing Rock Brewing Co. is hosting an Art Show and Sale of the late Diane Rosati’s works March 6- April 6. Opening is March 6, 2-4pm at the Taproom location. Reservations for the show opening are recommended due to Covid-19 restrictions and protocols.902-875-2282.

Mar 6 – Shawn Hebb live at Osprey Nest Public House (Petite Riviere)

Osprey Nest Public House welcomes back fan favourite Shawn Hebb this Saturday from 6-9pm. Head over for some good food, great music and check out the new enclosed, heated patio!

Mar 6 – Open Mic Night at FirkenStein Brewing (Bridgewater)

Ed Halverson is back at FirkenStein Brewing to host another Open Mic Night. Head down this Saturday between 7-10pm, bring your best songs, your gear and your bubble of supportive friends and take the stage!

Mar 6 – Kaylyn Turner live at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)

King Street Beer Co. is pleased to welcome back Kaylyn Turner this Saturday. Join them for a local brew, good music and all around fun night our. Music starts at 8pm.

What’s Happening on the South Shore Sunday March 7th, 2021

Mar 7 – Campfire Cooking at the MARC (Dayspring)

Looking to expand your menu when camping or in the backyard? Join the Lunenburg Recreation Department this Sunday from 2:30-4:30pm for Campfire Cooking 101. An opportunity to learn some easy and affordable ways to spice up your outdoor cooking. A combination of cast iron, tin foil and dutch oven cooking techniques will be presents, while cooking a delicious meal t enjoy including fish and veggies. This is a free activity, though donation to PRO Kids are welcomed.

Mar 7 – Sunday Ceilidh at King Street Beer Co. (Bridgewater)

King Street Beer Co. invites you to their Sunday Ceilidh from 2-4pm. Have a local brew, practice your social distancing, and enjoy traditional tunes with the South Shore Pipes and Drums band. Admission is free, but the band do take donations, and if you donate more than $5, you get an official South Shore Pipes and Drums mug to take home.

Mar 7 – Public Skate at Lunenburg Arena (Lunenburg)

Grab you bubble people and your skates and head to Lunenburg Arena for some skating. Why not fuel up at a local restaurant beforehand, make a night of it.
