Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week.  I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

Government, Michelin announce $300 million investment in province’s three plants

Photo: Mayor Mitchell

A lot of excitement in Bridgewater this week as a $300 million investment was announced for Michelin’s three plants, included in that $140 for the Bridgewater plant, which will produce tires for the growing electric vehicle market.

An investment like this, the growing of the Michelin plant, creates new jobs, and a secure future for generations. The trickle down from these jobs, also supports so many businesses in our area. A good news story for the South Shore.

Transport trail will connect Bridgewater and Osprey Village

Another funding announcement this week for an Active Transportation Trail connecting Osprey Village with the town of Bridgewater. Great news for those walking along the highway, trying to get to Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc.

Following a funding announcement made earlier this week, the MODL is now moving forward with its plans for an active transport trail between Osprey Village and Bridgewater.

Currently, if you wanted to travel between the communities on foot you have to walk over two exit ramps for Highway 103. MODL Mayor Carolyn Bolivar Getson noted during the announcement that they have been lucky so far that there haven’t been any serious accidents as a result.
