Meet the N.S. farmers who are turning composted food into energy

This is fascinating! If you can, watch this video, where farmers are producing energy from excessive food waste and then selling it to Nova Scotia Power. By setting up a bio-digester at Courthouse Hill Farms in Hants County, the Blois family who have owned the farm since 1784, are setting up the farm and land for future generations.

Nova Scotia Invests In Boatbuilding Training Program

Nova Scotia is investing $238,000 in an eight-week training program in composites fabrication, in hopes to address thee labour shortage in boat building. The training will be offered by NSCC and include hands-on learning for participants.

Three South Shore companies are hosting the hands-on component this fall: RPS Composites in Mahone Bay, Stelia North America in Lunenburg and Dagley’s Boatworks in East Lahave.

Faculty – Business Administration (Lunenburg Campus), Nova Scotia Community College 

There is a term full-time faculty position in Business Administration at NSCC Lunenburg Campus, commencing approximately December 9, 2021 and ending approximately May 27, 2022

As a member of the School of Business and Creative Industries faculty team, you will provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Business Administration program. You will collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners. This will include preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation of students using a broad range of flexible teaching and learning practices and technologies such as Learning Management Systems (e.g. Brightspace) and classroom technology. Related duties include but are not limited to academic and career advisement, participating on committees, program marketing, curriculum revision/development through collaborative practice within faculty working groups, supporting and monitoring work placements, liaising with business and industry, representing the College as required and upholding NSCC policies and procedures.
