Sunday Morning Coffee

Nova Scotia lobsters still in sweet spot despite climate change

Sunday morning I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week.  I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

With the lobster fishery worth over 1.3 billion dollars, and most of that caught in southwestern Nova Scotia, a study on the impact of climate change, is welcome, and seems to bring good news!

Fill up that coffee and lets read about science!

Philanthropist Stephen Sander opens new MIS suite in Bridgewater

How lovely to have Stephen Sander and his family in Bridgewater last week to celebrate his remarkable gift to the community. After spending some time in Bridgewater as a teacher, he wanted to give back to the community who encouraged and supported him.

Sander and his family contributed $1 million toward the South Shore Regional Hospital’s $1.4 million MIS suite project, and $200,000 toward a playground for the current Bridgewater Elementary School.

You never know the impact you are making on someone, and how they may repay that. Incredible!
