I so enjoy bringing you stories, helping you with meal plans and highlighting all we have to offer here on the South Shore. Gow’s Home Hardware is now open longer to serve you. Their new hours are Monday-Saturday from 7:00am-9:00pm and are also now open on Sundays 10:00am-5:00pm.

Afterglow Art Festival

The Afterglow Art Festival recently held its 6th annual free art at night celebration of community creativity held in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The event brings together artists of all kinds, from budding young artists to experienced professionals from across Lunenburg County and beyond to bring exposure to the talent of our rich community. Inspired by the Halifax’s Nocturne Art at Night event, Afterglow hosts unique creative exhibits and experiences for citizens in public spaces in Bridgewater, in particular highlighting its downtown core – King Street.

Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair

What a weekend it was for the 21st annual Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair! Each year the town comes to life with over 200 hand-made, life-size scarecrows. There’s the candle lit pumpkin path, the children’s entertainment, historic graveyard tours, book sales, BBQ’s, yard sales, the Quilt Jamboree and of course the largest antique show in the Maritimes!
