Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday mornings I usually grab a coffee and take time to catch-up on some stories I may not have had time to read throughout the week…I thought you might enjoy them with your Sunday Morning Coffee as well.

Beached whale saved by more than 100 Nova Scotians in spontaneous rescue effort- The Globe and Mail

One little tweet sent out on New Year’s Day asking if anyone could help with a beached whale on Rainbow Haven Beach…resulted in many coming out in the cold temperatures to help. Is this a feel-good story or what? 🙂

City Slickers to Profitable Farmers- The Old Walsh Farm

I love reading these stories. Sometimes I think I want chickens…or maybe a few small animals…but then I think…maybe I’ll just read about them instead. 😉 Lots of practical tips in this story for anyone who’s ever thought of going into farming…big or small.

“They knew NOTHING about homesteading or farming. They didn’t grow up on a farm. They didn’t have any sort of farming education. Heck, they had never even raised a chicken.

This is an almost unbelievable story about how Jason Beaton and Stephanie Robertson of Maplehurst Farms fell “ass backwards”, as they like to say, into farming…..And SUCCEEDED!”  Read more here….City Slickers to Profitable Farmers
