Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday mornings I usually grab a cup of coffee and take time to catch up on stories I may not have time to read through the week. I thought I would share some that caught my eye this week, that you might enjoy with your Sunday Morning Coffee.

LighthouseNow: Stompin’ Tom comes to life in Hebbs Cross teacher’s play

It must be quite the feeling to be asked to write a play about a Maritime legend, then see that play come to life on the stage. So excited about this story, as I know Erin as a fantastic teacher and literacy coach and a neighbor of sorts as we both live in the same community. What an accomplishment! If you’re traveling to PEI this summer be sure to check out My Island Home. 🙂

Bud the Spud from the bright red mud is the subject of a new play written by a teacher and playwright from Hebbs Cross. Erin Dunn-Keefe, a literacy coach with the South Shore Regional School Board and a former English and Sociology teacher at Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High School, spent months writing My Island Home: A Stompin’ Tom Story for the newly built Stompin’ Tom Centre in Skinners Pond, P.E.I.

Nova Scotia Kitchens offers tasty recipes, blog and podcast

I have followed Sherri Graham’s Instagram for a while now and just love her approach to home and photography. So when I read that she was starting a new project called Nova Scotia Kitchens, with a blog…and a podcast!…I was pumped! The blog is beautiful you can check it out here. I may have to try the Rosemary Shortbread recipe this week! 🙂

Sherrie Graham says the goal with her new blog is to bring all of her favourite things to the Internet – a visit and chat, a recipe to share and some images of someone’s home in Nova Scotia.“I want people to feel like they’re there with us at the table and have all of the insider tips on how to make recipes,” the Wellington, Yarmouth County, resident said.
