Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday mornings I usually grab a cup of coffee and take time to catch up on stories I may not have time to read through the week. I thought I would share some that caught my eye this week, that you might enjoy with your Sunday Morning Coffee as well.

365 days of capturing Nova Scotia’s beauty on film – Nova Scotia – CBC News

What a year it has been for Dave Culligan and what a gift for the rest of us! He started his 365 project by posting a 60 second video every day, typically showing off our province’s beauty. I loved them all and looked forward to them each day. While I am sad to see his project end, I can’t wait to see what’s next for Dave!

Check out some of his Top 5 favorite videos from this past year in this CBC story.

For the past 365 days, Halifax filmmaker Dave Culligan has been showing off Nova Scotia, one 60-second video at a time.He started out last June by documenting his own life. But once his videos — which have a distinct, East Coast pride vibe — developed a fan following, Culligan decided to give Nova Scotia the starring role in his films.

Exploring the many under-appreciated benefits of life on the South Shore | The Chronicle Herald

Most us know what a gem the South Shore is…read why others think this is the best place to live. 🙂

“The beaches here are world class and we often get to walk on them in complete solitude. There are tonnes of outdoor activities to enjoy; hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, kayaking, windsurfing and surfing. Nova Scotia has history, culture and it is so picturesque. The cycling along the coastal routes here is some of the best I have experienced.” These comments were made by Andrea Van Wilgenburg.
