Sunday Morning Coffee

Sunday mornings I usually take time to catch up on stories I may not have time to read through the week. Thought I would share some that caught my eye this week, maybe you will enjoy them with your Sunday morning coffee as well.

3 Steps to a More Peaceful Home in the New Year

I love New Year’s Day…I always have. It’s a great time to reflect on the past year and think of what possibilities lie ahead. This post is from one of my favorite blogs from the past year, becoming minimalist.

As the year comes to an end, we all tend to look back at what worked and what didn’t, and on how we grew and changed over the year. We think about where we’ve been, where we’re going, who we are, and who we want to be.While we’re doing that, why not reimagine what our homes can be, too? I want my home to be welcoming. I want it to be a place where my family feels comfortable, a place where it’s easy for us to enjoy time together, and a place that helps us each do our own work.

What Canada can learn from Denmark about Surviving Winter

It’s January 1st and we’ve gotten off pretty easy so far as winter goes. However, there is still a long time between now and Spring…or May…when it eventually starts to feel like Spring….so we need ways to get through or survive winter. It’s all really about perspective and the Danish have a whole way of embracing these winter months, called hygge…I like it.

If you are someone who embraces the cold, lives for winter sports and enjoys being wrapped up in a parka trudging through the snow when it’s below freezing, I give you a standing ovation. Because let’s face it: Canadian winters — even unusually mild ones — can be tough. According to the Centre for Mental Health and Addiction, 25 to 35 percent of Canadians experience the winter blues.

You Could Live Here- 110 Mcbunt Drive, Hebbville Nova Scotia

For all of those who have said they want to live on a lake…you need to check this out! Ten minutes from town, on beautiful Fancy Lake, this cottage ready to be turned year round home, is pretty sweet! New siding, heat pump, windows and doors, and walking distance to the trail, but I am personally sold on the sun room alone. Oh my…this could be a dream retirement home or a dream turned reality for someone who’s always wanted to live on the water.

This property is listed with Mark Seamone of Exit Realty InterLake

It’s never to late to think about your family’s summer escape~ Summer maybe gone, but the memories to be made next year are just beginning. This location has all the makings of a future year round home if cottage time is now, but a retirement home is later. Currently set up as a cottage, but has room to make it a year round retreat. The road is kept open year round for other residents, so potential is waiting! Sweet 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage, with a garage and a sunroom perfect for a morning coffee! Bright open spaces and several upgrades are sure to please. New siding, new heat pump, windows, decks and doors are just some of the upgrades you will discover at this lakefront haven. Ever popular, Fancy Lake is where your family will enjoy the summers, and mom and dad will enjoy its close proximity to Bridgewater and all its amenities. The rails to trails is within walking distance, it’s from here you can walk or 4-wheel for days!
