Summer to me has a feeling. This week has “felt” like summer. Sunny, warm days and late evenings just call out to you. We need to take full advantage of these as we all know how fleeting it can be. So, the last thing you want to do is waste time figuring out what to eat. You need a plan and Fresh Cuts Market is here to help.
Here’s what we’re having this week:
Haddock, Roasted Potatoes and Cauliflower
Barbecued Pork Chops, Barbecued Foil-Wrapped Potatoes and Green Salad
Grilled Shish Kabobs with Peppers, Rice and Sliced Cucumber
Here’s what I bought:
Romaine Lettuce- $1.47
2 English Cucumbers- ($1.47)= $2.94
3 pack Peppers- $2.97
Vine Tomatoes- $0.57/lb = $1.21
Dozen Eggs- $3.27
10 lbs Potatoes- $3.77
Fresh Local Haddock- $4.97 lb= $6.60
2 packs Chicken Drumsticks- $8.79
Boneless Pork Sirloin Chops- $2.47/lb= $4.63
Cubed Shish Kabob Beef- $5.77/lb= $9.77
Total Spent: $48.39
A couple of notes about this week’s meal plan:
*I’ll use the bag of potatoes as the base for 3 sides…the roasted potatoes, barbecued potatoes and potato salad
*I just fry up the haddock after dipping into a little bit of milk and flour…delicious!
*The barbecued chicken and potato salad will make enough to do us for 2 nights
I can struggle with making meals this time of year, but I will prep my sides in the morning then I’ll just have to barbecue or fry up our meat/chicken/fish. Not having to think about what I’m making is half the battle. Having a plan is a game-changer. 🙂
