Fresh Cuts Friday- April 13th 2017

We all know I love talking meal planning and have even recently done a freezer meal plan and talked about how to prepare for that. I am really excited to announce that Meal Plan Mondays are continuing here on Simple Local Life, but are shifting to Fresh Cuts Friday!!

Fresh Cuts Market is located on King Street in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and just opened their doors a few months ago. I actually wrote a post and did a meal plan from there back in February. As an experienced meal planner, even I was impressed with the low price that I was able to plan my meals for that week. Feeding yourself or your family, real food, even on a budget, is possible with a little bit of planning and Fresh Cuts Market is making that even easier for us here on the South Shore. If you also enjoy fast, friendly service, you’re going to love it here. 🙂

So let’s get to it! Here’s what we’re having this week:

Barbecue Sirloin Tip Steak with Roasted Sweet Potato and Asparagus

Chicken Stir-Fry with Rice

Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Garlic and Herb Pork Tenderloin

Here’s what I bought:

4 Sirloin Tip Steaks- $11.76
Asparagus: $1.97 lb = $2.30
2 English Cucumbers- $1.54
3 Sweet Potatoes- $0.47 lb= $1.61
2 lb bag of Onions- $0.57
Garlic- $0.51
4 pack Peppers- $3.97
Teriyaki Stir Fry Vegetables- $5.97
5 lb bag of Carrots- $2.47
5 lb bag Yellow Potatoes- $2.97
Boneless Stew Beef- $6.18
Pork Tenderloin- $6.06
Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts- $5.28

Total Spent: $51.19

Curious if other three nights of week are left overs or going to families houses? For me i dont seem to go to families places for meals so tend to have to make 7 or else its a throw in a pizza from box on 7th night

    • Great question Ashley! I typically plan 4 or 5 nights a week…with at least one night being leftovers. Weekends I tend to be a bit more casual/unplanned as far as meals using up whatever is still in the fridge/freezer. 🙂

This is super. I always try the meal planning but end up spending so much anyways. I find it just settles the thinking of what to make. Do you do week menus regularly and share? It super looking and cheap. I’d love to follow that meal plan wagon ☺
