Spicy Maple Nuts

Perfect for gift giving, or a nice addition to a party table or while watching the game. Be prepared...they won't last long...and you will be asked for the recipe!
Ingredients
  • 4 cups mixed nuts
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1½ tsp chili powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or foil, but if using foil, spray it with a non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Place nuts in a large bowl
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat add maple syrup, butter and 1 tsp chili powder, ¼ tsp cayenne and salt
  4. Heat until boiling, about 2 minutes
  5. Immediately pour over nuts and stir until evenly coated
  6. Spread out nuts in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet
  7. Bake in the center of the oven- at 300 degrees- stirring occasionally until glazed-20-25 minutes
  8. Sprinkle with remaining chili powder and cayenne and stir
  9. Let cool on sheet, stirring occasionally
  10. Store in an airtight container
