Ingredients
4 lbs Chicken parts- leg, wing, breast, thigh, skin-on.
Salt
Vegetable Oil
Barbecue Sauce
Instructions
Brush the chicken pieces with vegetable oil
Sprinkle salt over them
Warm up barbecue until it reaches a temperature of 350 degrees
Shut burners off on one side
Place chicken pieces on hot side for 5-10 minutes until you get a good sear on one side
Once you have a good sear, move the chicken to the cool side of the grill. not directly over the flame
Try to keep the temperature around 300 degrees , cover and cook undisturbed for 20-30 minutes
Turn chicken over and slather with barbecue sauce
Cover and cook for another 10-30 minutes (timing depends on the size of your chicken pieces)
Finish with a sear on the other side if you like
When you insert the tip of a knife into the middle of the thickest piece and the juices should run clear, the chicken is done
Spread more barbecue sauce on before taking off the grill
