When Kacy Delong was studying metalworking at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design she most likely wasn’t thinking then that her skills and artistic abilities would be contributing to a cause that has had such a profound impact on her life. After watching her husband struggle with complications from kidney disease for many years, his kidneys began to fail and Kacy’s best friend …now lovingly called “Donor Dave” …donated one of his kidneys, and essentially changed their lives.  Shortly after, Delong Designs was born, a company committed to creating with a cause, raising funds, spirits and awareness for kidney disease and organ donation.

At Delong Designs they strive to live creatively and work responsibly. When you purchase from them you not only acquire a lovingly crafted piece, you also contribute to a social purpose initiative. They are partnered with the Kidney Foundation of Canada with ornament sales helping them in two ways. They are raising funds for the Foundation, and are also raising awareness regarding organ donation, a cause very near to their hearts.

2017 brings several new additions to their Pewter Ornament collection, including the Kidney Heart. This ornament, also Delong Designs logo, represents Kacy’s vision for raising funds and awareness surrounding organ donation. It’s a symbol of kidney donors and of the void they fill in the lives of recipients.

Straight from the Balsam Fir Christmas Tree capital of the world, and inspiration from their own Christmas Tree Farm, comes the Celtic Christmas Tree ornament! “The Celtic Christmas tree references the classic Celtic Tree of Life, the symbol of balance and harmony.
